PROJECT TITLE:
Anchored In Him: A Book Publishing Journey
OVERVIEW:
Apostle Ulysses Tuff (AUT) is the pastor and founder of The Way, The Truth, and The Life Christian Center, Inc. in Decatur, Georgia. As a 3-time published author, his latest publication, "Anchored in Him," explores the contrast between the tranquility of peaceful waters and the tumult of life's storms, highlighting the deep-seated human longing for security amidst chaos. Through the metaphor of a boat, the book illustrates the necessity of being anchored in Jesus Christ. The unshakeable foundation allows believers to navigate life's uncertainties with purpose and peace. Forrest Tuff, CEO of One Vision Productions, was engaged to serve as the Book Project Manager for his new book from concept to creation.
GOALS:
The primary goal of this book project is to share Apostle Tuff's insights on the theme "Anchored in Him," providing readers with spiritual encouragement and guidance. Additionally, the project aims to reinforce Apostle Tuff's presence in the literary community and enhance his credibility as an author while promoting his message to a broader audience. Lastly, the initiative seeks to create community engagement opportunities and connections through book signings and promotional events, fostering a deeper relationship between the author and readers.
PROCESS:
As the Book Project Manager, I conducted research to identify five sermons on the theme of "Anchored in Him" and oversaw their transcription. Collaborating closely with Apostle Ulysses Tuff, I drafted the manuscript based on these transcriptions and engaged a professional Christian editing company for comprehensive editing services. As a liaison, I facilitated clear communication between Apostle Tuff and the editorial team throughout the editing process. I selected and negotiated terms with Westbow Press for publishing services to ensure alignment with the project's vision. Additionally, I authored Apostle Tuff's professional biography and coordinated the cover photography for the book. I partnered with Westbow Press to refine the design concepts for the book cover and layout while maintaining ongoing communication as a liaison. To promote the book's release, I submitted the final manuscript for consideration for the Georgia Author of the Year Award and produced a 30-second commercial. I also identified and contracted a publicist to provide branding and marketing strategies and facilitate a book signing event. Finally, I provided photography and videography services to document the book signing event.
OUTCOMES:
Apostle Tuff received a nomination for the 53rd Georgia Author of the Year Award from the Georgia Writers Association, highlighting his impact on the literary community. During a successful book signing event at Art Station in Stone Mountain, GA, he sold over 500 copies of his book "Anchored in Him," showcasing strong public interest and engagement. This achievement reflects diligent promotional efforts, strategic marketing, and effective collaboration with a Book Project Manager, contributing to a significant milestone in his author journey and increasing visibility for his work and message. Anchored in Him is available for purchase on Amazon.
