The Georgia Film Industry Workshop Series

OVERVIEW:

Since its inception in 1964, SCORE has empowered over 17 million entrepreneurs across the United States, providing invaluable mentorship, education, and resources to business professionals in various sectors. In North Metro Atlanta, SCORE's mission is exemplified by a dedicated team of seasoned volunteers who are committed to fostering business success. This narrative outlines the goals, processes, and outcomes associated with the production of the SCORE North Metro Atlanta Film Industry Workshops, championed by Forrest Tuff, CEO of One Vision Productions and SCORE Mentor.

GOALS:

The SCORE Film Industry Workshops aimed to educate creatives and entrepreneurs on the importance of comprehensive business plans in the film industry, recruit 50 new mentees for SCORE's mentorship program, and effectively utilize a $10,000 grant while adhering to budget constraints.

PROCESS:

To achieve these goals over three months, a structured approach was taken. Under Forrest Tuff's leadership, careful budget planning ensured financial accountability. Targeted advertising and collaborations effectively engaged the audience, while media outreach with news outlets maximized awareness. Coordination included keynote preparation by Tuff, vendor engagement, guest speaker invitations, and local business partnerships. Logistical arrangements, such as venue booking and food service, were meticulously managed. Marketing efforts involved creating visual materials and promotional content, with Tuff serving as keynote speaker and moderator. Each workshop emphasized participant engagement, fostering a dynamic and informative atmosphere.

OUTCOMES:

The program exceeded expectations by securing 96 new mentee activations and engaging eight volunteers, who contributed a cumulative 285 hours, resulting in a significant economic impact of $7,037. Additionally, the workshops introduced SCORE to over 450 individuals, enhancing its community presence. In recognition of the workshops’ success, Forrest Tuff was featured in the SCORE National Volunteer Spotlight and awarded the SCORE Distinguished Service Award. This initiative has established a benchmark for future programs, emphasizing SCORE’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship in the film industry.
