PROJECT TITLE:
Greens in the Day, Blues in the Night Fundraiser
OVERVIEW:
Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company, established in 1990, is renowned for its dedication to producing works that illuminate the African American experience and foster diversity in the performing arts. The annual "Greens in the Day, Blues in the Night" golf and gala event serves to raise funds to support youth education programs at True Colors Theatre. Phyllis Stephens, the owner of Fine Arts Concierges and an award-winning fifth-generation quilt maker recognized by critics as a Master of African-American Story Quilts, curated a collection of works by esteemed artists to be sold as part of the event’s fundraising efforts. One Vision Productions was engaged to develop videography, photography, and branded content for the featured artists.
GOALS:
The primary goals for the “Greens in the Day, Blues in the Night” event were to showcase the works of ten renowned artists through a specially designed fundraising binder and document the event, highlighting the importance of community support in fostering cultural expression and education.
PROCESS:
In preparation for the event, One Vision Productions collaborated closely with True Colors Theatre Company and Phyllis Stephens to design and produce a collection of 5x7 double-sided cards featuring individual biographies and artworks from each of the ten selected artists. These cards were cohesively bound together with a single loop binder, creating an elegant presentation for attendees. As the event unfolded at a beautiful mansion, One Vision Productions successfully captured high-quality photography of the attendees, artworks, and the overall atmosphere, ensuring that every moment was documented professionally.
OUTCOMES:
The event successfully met its fundraising goals, greatly enhancing support for the youth education programs at True Colors Theatre Company. The thoughtfully designed binder showcased the featured artists, fostering appreciation among attendees. Distinguished guests elevated the event's profile, solidifying the theatre's reputation in the community. One Vision Productions captured the evening through high-quality photography and a polished 45-second marketing video, effectively highlighting the event's success. Overall, the occasion strengthened community ties and support for the arts.
